Days after picking Martha Karua as his running mate for the August polls, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has overtaken DP William Ruto in popularity, the latest research by Trends and Insights Africa (TIFA) shows.
According to the TIFA study, Odinga has a 39% popularity rating against DP Ruto’s 35%
Wiper Party leader and Presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka comes a distant third at 2 percent.
Lead researcher Tom Wolf stated that the poll showed Odinga has gained in popularity since the last survey by 7 percent while Ruto has dropped in popularity by 4 percent
The poll which was conducted on Tuesday also shows that Azimio La Umoja is most popular coalition in five zones while Kenya Kwanza Alliance enjoys popularity in 4 zones.
Azimio enjoys 38 per cent popularity, while Kenya Kwanza has a 28 per cent popularity with OKA commanding a 3 per cent popularity.
