President William Ruto has formed a taskforce to spearhead competency-based Curriculum reforms.
The task force will be tasked with assessing before recommending the appropriate structures to be adopted and implemented in CBC.
According to a Gazette notice released on Friday September 30, President William Ruto formed the task force.
“It is notified for the general information of the public that William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya has appointed a working party on education reform,” the Gazette Notice read in part.
The taskforce has Raphael Munavu as the head, Peter Tabichi, Paul Wainaina, Stephen Gitahi Kiama, Halima Saado Abdilahi, Ciriaka Gitonga, Purity Mbaabu, Edward Katue Nzinga, Virginia Wahome, Robert Juma Wamalwa, Charles Kyalo Mutinda, Anthony Cheruiyot Sitienei, Bishop Geffrey Waweru Gichoki, Rev Seline Chepngeno Ronoh, Laila Abubakar, Daniel Otieno Randa and John Kamiti Munyua.
Through the gazette, Ruto further tasked the 49-member team with grant planning and producing recommendations for CBC frameworks to improve the quality of education.
“To review and recommend appropriate financing framework including capitation and minimum essential package grants for all basic education levels.
“To review and recommend a framework for physical and infrastructure development and coordination of public-private partnerships for improved access and quality provision,” Ruto stated through the Gazette Notice.
