The Sudan health officials on Wednesday announced to have recorded 26 deaths from the dengue fever outbreak in the country.
Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne infection found in tropical and subtropical regions around the world.
According to a report by the head of health emergency and epidemic control directorate at Sudanese Health Ministry Montasir Mohamed Osman, there has been 462 confirmed cases and 26 deaths.
Osman further stated that 3,439 suspected cases of dengue fever have been recorded in 9 states, most of the cases reported in North Kordofan, West Kordofan and North Darfur.

Statistics offered by United Nations indicate that Sudan has recorded 1,068 cases of the dengue fever since October.
The Ministry of health in Sudan has put in place measures to help control the fever, including sending teams to combat the disease carrier in the states, provision of medicines and blood, doing daily monitoring and investigation operations as well as assigning a contact number for reports of infections and suspected cases.
Dengue fever symptoms include high fever, headache, aching band ones and muscles, and even bleeding gums and nose when it turns into severe form.
