Two brothers are in the hospital nursing serious injuries after they accidentally denoted a bomb while herding.
The two brothers, aged 12 and 6, from Kikurrukur village in Narok county, were rushed to the Narok County Referral Hospital in critical condition after sustaining injuries on the legs and eyes from the exploded shrapnel.
Bomb experts from a nearby Kenya Airforce Froward Operating Base in Narok west were sent to the scene after the terrible incident.
Officers have since cautioned residents against getting into contact with any suspicious metallic or military artillery.

The latest comes barely weeks after police detonated a colonial-era bomb found inside Aberdare National park.
At the time, authorities noted that the bomb might have been dropped from the air during the Mau Mau war.
“For the past few weeks, experts have detonated four such bombs that are commonly found in the areas around Mount Kenya and Aberdare forests,” David Chege, a bomb expert said.
