Roots Party Presidential flag bearer George Wajackoyah has dismissed the latest opinion polls by Infotrak which placed the race for State House come August 9 between two candidates.
Speaking during a televised interview on Wednesday, June 8, Wajackoyah argued that the latest polls were floored after they placed Azimio la Umoja Kenya Kwanza coalition flag bearer Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto as the sole competitors of the country’s top seat.
Wajackoyah questioned why Infotrak did not conduct a full poll on all the four presidential candidates including himself and David Mwaura Waihiga of the Agano party.
“I will agree with the DP for the first time for rubbishing the opinion polls. They should be on notice that there is a new player on the block who takes no nonsense but takes the interests of Kenyans at heart,” Wajackoyah argued.
Ruto also shared the same sentiments with the Roots Party leader. Speaking On Wednesday during a campaign trail in Mandera the DP said that there is a plan to hoodwink the electorate arguing that Raila and his camp are enjoying State backing ahead of the polls that are 60 days away.
“Now that they are stuck, even the deep state is stack and their manifesto too so that have opted to manufacture opinion polls which will favour them,” Ruto said.
The DP had also accused the State machinery of planning to interfere and floor the credibility of the August 9 polls by tempering with the transmission of the presidential election results, a claim interior CS Fred Matiang’i rubbished as false.
“We are approaching elections and the biggest debate is about how we are going to behave with each other in the era of fake news and the unprecedented abuse of social media. The government is not going to act otherwise; we respect the freedom of Kenyans,” Matiang’i said.
