A family in Pakistan is mourning the death of a journalist allegedly shot dead in Kenya.
Arshad Sharid, a revered journalist flew to Kenya from London after parting ways with his former employer following an interview that aired on the channel.
His wife, Javeria Siddique in her statement revealed that the family got the heartbreaking news from the police and further asked the people to not share family pictures of the late.
“I lost friend, husband and my favorite journalist Arshad Sharif today, as per police he was shot in Kenya.
“Respect our privacy and in the name of breaking please don’t share our family pics, personal details and his last pictures from hospital. Remember us in your prayers,” noted Siddique.
According to Dawn.com, a media outlet, the former news anchor was facing multiple sedition cases over his programming.
Authorities in both Kenya and Pakistan are yet to confirm the facts surrounding the journalist’s death as they probe further.
