Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi has told off UDA Secretary General (SG) Cleophas Malala regarding politicians and Cabinet Secretaries (CS) involved in early campaigns.
Malala had singled out public remarks made by Sudi, Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wa Muchomba, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen, and Public Service CS Moses Kuria.
The SG stated that the conduct of these politicians undermines the party’s unity and disrespects the leadership they pledged to serve.
“I have been deeply concerned by reports of indiscipline amongst a section of elected leaders within our party, UDA. My attention has been drawn to the fact that certain individuals continue to show blatant disrespect to the party leadership, including the Presidency,” Malala said.
This behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated within the realms of our Party. Let this be a stern warning: desist from such actions with immediate effect. Should this behavior persist, the party will take disciplinary action against you.”

Oscar Sudi Responds
However, Sudi dismissed Malala’s warning, stating he couldn’t match the powers of former Jubilee SG Raphael Tuju.
“Elevated MCA suffering from illusory superiority, thinking he matches Raphael Tuju’s calibre,” Sudi wrote.
Malala’s warning came at a time when there are alleged divisions between President William Ruto and DP Rigathi Gachagua.
Sudi’s statement has sparked a debate on social media since he is a close ally of President Ruto.
A section of X users has hinted that the MP’s conduct will cause divisions in UDA while others have backed him for his truthfulness. Politician Alinur Mohamed claims that Sudi might be speaking on behalf of President Ruto while Malala is representing Gachagua.
“When you see Oscar Sudi calling the SG of Ruto’s party, Cleophas Malala, an ‘Elevated MCA suffering from illusory superiority,’ then you know it’s about to go down. Remember, Sudi is speaking on behalf of William Ruto while Malala on behalf of Gachagua,” he said.
However, X user Peter Kariuki said Sudi always stands for the truth while Malala is misguided.
“Oscar Sudi is never shy of telling the truth to power. If he finished Uhuru Kenyatta, Kibicho, and Matiangi singlehandedly then I wonder who the hell is Malala. The boy from Kakamega is misguided,” wrote Kariuki.

Malala Warns Kuria & Murkomen
Malala warned Murkomen and Kuria to stop engaging in politics and focus on their ministries. He explained that the law bars CSs from participating in politics, and they should resign if they want to join the political field.
“Moses Kuria, the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Gender, and Affirmative Action, your primary responsibility is to serve the people within your docket. Should you wish to engage in politics, you are welcome to resign and join the political arena,” Malala said.
“Similarly, CS Kipchumba Murkomen, your focus should be on addressing the pressing issues in your ministry, particularly the reclamation of roads damaged by recent floods. Serve the Kenyan people or step down from your position and return to politics.”

Kenyans React
Some Kenyans on social media criticized UDA for focusing on fighting Gachagua at the expense of serving the people and delivering their manifesto.
Facebook user Mukuha Mukuha said the voters had high hopes for the Kenya Kwanza government during the elections.
“We elected the Kenya Kwanza government hoping that hustlers will come out of the bondage of poverty, but now they have abandoned the party vision and mission, and their target now is Gachagua,” he said.

Where is Ndindi Nyoro?
Mukuha also questioned why Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was not included in Malala’s list and asked the SG to tame state house bloggers.
“Kindly also tame those who are state house bloggers. I have not seen Ndindi Nyoro on the list? The divorce will be messy, noisy, and with casualties,” Mukuha said.
Others defended Kuria and Murkomen, stating that they are politicians unlike some other CSs. Fredrick Kirui said Ruto should expect such occurrences since he appointed politicians to be part of his cabinet.
“You appointed politicians for ministerial roles and expect them to serve people? Impossible. Treasury CS Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u has never engaged in politics because he’s an expert in the right ministry,” he said.
