President William Ruto has made changes in the leadership of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party directorate of elections and Information Communication Technology (ICT).
In a memo dated January 8, Secretary General Cleophas Malala announced reorganization of UDA secretariat.
“After careful consideration and in order to enhance effective collaboration to streamline internal processes, the party secretariat has been restructured,” read the memo.
Brian Mbugua was named as the Deputy Executive Director in charge of Elections and ICT while Kelvin Kitika will be the ICT Manager.
Furthermore, Wilson Samba will be the Head of training and capacity building while Collins Babu will be the elections manager.
In Malala’s office, Alfred Makotsi was named the Principal Assistant while Victor Welden is the Political Advisor.
Further, Patience Kiti is the Office Manager, Wangeci Linah Legal Advisor and Geoffrey Kipsang Head of Strategic Research.
Betty Truphena Mboga was named the Resource Mobilization, Programs and Partnership and Ongw’en Justine Head of Protocol.
“The above changes take place immediately,” said Malala.
Besides, Catherine Gathoni and Amboye Shakila are the executive secretaries.
Arnold Maliba and Joseph Akwiri will be the Strategic Communication Advisor and Media Liaison Officer respectively.
Additionally, Lucy Kaleke will be the Communication Officer, Momanyi Brian will head Photography and Dickson Omari will be in charge of Videography.
UDA Finance and Administration
In the changes, Joseph Mulili Kituku was named the Director of Finance and Administration and Mercy Kuria the Supply Chain Manager.
Other changes were James Losikany Manager Administration, Mwasingo Dishon Human Resource Manager and Mertrine Musanga Finance Manager.
Judy Totona will be Ruto’s office manager while Moses Saoyo Kusero will manage that of the Deputy Party Rigathi Gachagua.

Office of the Executive Director
Nicodemus Bore will be UDA’s Executive Director (ED) assisted by Edwin Kipkoech.
Dennis Saidi will be the manager office of the ED while Samora Machel will manage Parliamentary Affairs office.
Other changes in the ED’s office include Sande Oyolo County Liaison Officer, Hellen Njeri Executive Secretary, Lucy Oguti Warehouse Manager, Marvin Wamukota Internal Auditor and Willie Karanja Head of Registry.
Communications Department
In the communications department, UDA confirmed Rob Nura Jillo as the Director, Benjamin Caleb Wandalo the Manager Public Relations and Moses Munyi Njagi Chief Editor.
Also, Yusuf Omete will be the Digital Manager and Anthony Ngeru Muburi the Head of Communication Research.

Political & Diaspora Affairs
Charles Matoke was named the Director Political and Diaspora Affairs.
He will be assisted by Jennifer Malik, manager diaspora affairs and George Muthemba, manager political affairs.
Notably, Samuel Mwangi Kang’eri was named the Director Membership and Anthony Njenga the Membership Manager.
Kibet Kirui Emmanule is the Director Legal and Compliance while Anet Chepngetich was named Manger Legal.
UDA Elections
The party leadership called off the grassroots elections which were scheduled for December 9, 2023, elections across the country.
Malala on November 18 announced that the National Steering Committee (NSC) meeting chaired by President Ruto had resolved to postpone the elections to April 2024.
Instead, Malala said the elections will be staggered in three clusters taking place on April 12, 19, and 24 in 2024.
“Following a National Steering Council (NSC) meeting held on 18th November 2023, and chaired by the Party Leader H.E William Samoei Ruto, PhD, CGH. The United Democratic Alliance party (UDA) wishes to notify all members and aspirants that the grassroots elections initially scheduled for December 9th 2023 have been postponed,” Malala announced in the statement.
In addition, the Party asked aspirants to continue registration with deadline now set for March 22, 2024, at 6.00 p.m.
