10-km world record holder Rhonex Kipruto has been suspended on allegations of an anti-doping allegation.
According to the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), the Kenyan athlete has been suspended for the next four years, after using of a Prohibited Substance/Method (ABP).
Even though the 23-year-old holds the world record for the 10 km road race, many athletes from the region have been banned over the past five years due to doping cases, despite the AIU head Brett Clothier’s March warning that the international anti-doping body was stepping up its investigations and testing in the nation.
