Endometriosis is a common condition among women and is associated with monthly periods. Dr. Joseph Njagi, a renowned endometriosis specialist and surgeon, says that period pain among girls and women should not be ignored.
Speaking on The Kenya Times, hosted by Nixon Njau, Dr. Njagi highlighted that debilitating menstrual pain is often a major symptom of Endometriosis. He emphasized that such pain may delay diagnosis and treatment, leaving many women to suffer in silence while the condition progresses.
According to the medic, the perception of period pain as an inevitable part of womanhood is a widespread misconception that needs to be challenged.
Through his work with the Laparoscopy Mashinani Program and as a leader in the Kenyan Society of Endoscopic Specialties, he continues to champion the cause of Endometriosis.
