Loud explosions have been heard as Israel launched a fresh wave of strikes targeting military sites in Tehran and Beirut.
According to reports citing Iran’s Mehr news agency, explosions have been heard in the Iranian cities of Isfahan and Shiraz.
On March 3, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that they were conducting simultaneous targeted strikes against military targets in Tehran and Beirut.
“The IDF is currently conducting simultaneous targeted strikes against military targets in Tehran and Beirut,” read part of the statement.
On the other hand, images seen by The Kenya Times show thick black smoke billowing over Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Strikes During Israel-Iran War
Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said Air Force jets struck and eliminated a group of air defence personnel affiliated with Iran who were allegedly preparing to target Israeli aircraft.
In the X post, he added that Israeli aircraft are continuing sustained operations against Iranian air defence infrastructure, including launch platforms, missiles, and radar systems.
“Air Force eliminates soldiers from the air defence system in the Iranian terrorist regime,” he posted.
According to the spokesperson, the Israeli military will not allow Iran to activate systems intended to target its aircraft and will continue striking efforts to arm missile launchers.
In parallel, the Air Force is also targeting facilities linked to fire-control systems and Iranian ballistic missile launch platforms.

IDF Announces Eliminations

According to the IDF, Rami was responsible for orchestrating hundreds of attacks against Israeli troops and civilians, including recruiting and training operatives and facilitating weapons procurement.
During Operation Northern Arrows, he allegedly coordinated the movement of PIJ operatives along the Syria–Lebanon border and directed activities targeting IDF forces in southern Lebanon.
The IDF stated that his killing has significantly degraded PIJ’s operational capabilities against Israel.
Currently, Iran is holding a mass funeral for around 165 people, including students, who were killed in an attack on a girls’ school in the southern city of Minab.
