Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua has pledged to sponsor Princess Angel, the young girl who recited a poem during the Akurinu National Prayers Conference held on Sunday, June 9, in Nakuru County.
Gachagua described Princess Angel as a talented, bold, and sharp young girl.
The DP admitted that Angel wowed President William Samoei Ruto and himself with her profuse, profound prowess in poetry, mastery of English and Swahili, and sweet, soothing, refined rendition skills.
“I was delighted this morning, with my spouse Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, hosting the pretty Princess and her mother Ann Kariuki for breakfast at the Official Residence in Karen, Nairobi,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua said they have identified the talent and are ready to propel her to her full potential.
He revealed that his office has secured admission at Utawala Academy, Nairobi, for the 11-year-old Princess to continue shaping and sharpening her skills.
“I will take care of her education needs until she becomes the heavyweight lawyer she desires to be,” the DP said.
Highlights of Princes Angel Poem
Angel was introduced to the podium by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika before she made her speech during the event.
In her introduction, she made fun of Ruto’s nickname “Uncle Willy” and Gachagua’s brand name “Riggy G.”
Angel also recalled how Ruto and his deputy were frustrated before the 2022 general elections.
“Walisema hutakuwa kwenye kumbe baada ya dhiki ni faraja,” says part of the poem. This translates to “They said you wouldn’t succeed, but after hardship comes relief.”
She also narrated that Kenyans trusted Ruto with the top seats since he always delivers on his promises.

Angel also praised other top UDA leaders including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, and his Transport counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen, among others.
She praised the leaders for standing with Ruto during the hard times before elections, adding that God will not allow the president to undergo such frustrations again.
She amazed the crowd by confidently going to the president’s seat, holding his hands, and making him stand up.
“Every successful man, there is a great woman, a prayerful one, Mama Rachel Ruto, the First Lady,” she said while Ruto was standing.
“Your Excellency, you may sit,” Angel directed the president after making the statement.

Gachagua Nicknames
The crowd burst into more laughter when Angel described Gachagua as “Riggy G, the son of Mau Mau, the fearless hustler from the mountain, and the truthful man in East and Central Africa.”
She praised Pastor Dorcas for standing with the deputy and helping him rise through the ranks to become the second in command.
“Our economy was dilapidated, our country’s debt raised an alarm, human rights were threatened, the youth lacked employment, but luckily enough, our hustler government has a clear plan and agenda,” Angel said.
