Influencer Nara Smith has revealed that her 2-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, has been diagnosed with cancer after months of quietly managing the illness with her family.
The 24-year-old content creator shared the emotional update in an Instagram Reel on Wednesday, July 1, explaining that she and her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, first learned about the diagnosis late last year.
How Nara Smith Learned Her Daughter Had Cancer
In the video, Nara did not specify what kind of cancer is affecting Whimsy or provide any updates on how her daughter is doing now. However, she described the frightening series of events that led to the diagnosis.
According to Nara, she and Lucky sought medical attention after noticing something unusual in their daughter. They first took Whimsy to an emergency room, where doctors were unable to determine the cause of the problem.
The couple later visited their pediatrician, whose reaction immediately raised concerns.
“When we saw something suspicious on her, we took her to the ER, and they didn’t quite know what to make of it,” Nara said in the video.
“When we took her into our pediatrician, I just remember him going really quiet and calm. My heart dropped in that moment. I don’t know whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mom’s intuition, but the first thing that I felt was she has cancer.”

Following the pediatrician’s recommendation, Lucky took Whimsy to a nearby children’s hospital for further testing.
Doctors carried out several medical examinations, including X-rays, ultrasounds and a biopsy, before confirming the diagnosis.
“After a lot of X-rays, ultrasounds and finally a biopsy, they immediately called us and said that she had cancer, told us it had spread and that she needs to come and start chemo treatments immediately,” Nara recalled.
Family Balances Cancer Treatment, Parenthood and Work
The influencer said the diagnosis turned the family’s life upside down.
In addition to caring for Whimsy during treatment, Nara and Lucky have been raising their three other young children: daughters Rumble Honey and Fawnie Golden, and son Slim Easy. Lucky is also father to daughter Gravity from a previous relationship.
Nara said managing hospital visits while caring for her newborn and managing work has been one of the greatest challenges she has faced.
She explained that many followers had noticed she had been posting less on social media in recent months, saying the family’s medical journey was the reason for her absence.

“Having found all of this out and navigating this while postpartum, also loving and caring for our other kids at home, also being in the hospital with Whimsy a lot and balancing work on top of that has been really challenging,” she said.
She added that finding balance has been difficult and that every day brings different emotions.
“Some days are a little easier, some days are really hard, and all I can do is try my best and show up in all those areas in the best way that I can,” she said.
Nara Smith Says Other Families Helped Her Through the Journey
Throughout Whimsy’s treatment, Nara said she found comfort by connecting with other parents whose children were also undergoing cancer treatment.
She spent time reading online forums, using social media, and speaking with families she met at the children’s hospital.
Those conversations, she said, helped ease the isolation that often comes with caring for a seriously ill child.
“All of that combined really brought me a lot of comfort and alleviated the feeling of loneliness for me,” she said.
Nara explained that one reason she decided to publicly share her family’s experience was to support other parents facing similar situations.
She said she hopes people watching her story will feel less alone and will not ignore health concerns that may seem minor at first.
Nara Thanks Medical Team After Sharing Family’s Story
The influencer also thanked the doctors and nurses who cared for Whimsy throughout her treatment.
In the caption accompanying her video, Nara expressed gratitude to the medical teams who helped guide the family through the experience.
“Thankful for each and every nurse and doctor along our journey who helped us get through and out the other end,” she wrote.
Nara has built a large following through videos featuring cooking, family life and motherhood. Her content has attracted millions of views on social media platforms.
The couple married in 2020 and have regularly shared moments from family life to their audience.
