Isiolo High Court Judge Cherere Thripsisa Wanjiku Wamae has been airlifted to Nairobi for treatment after being involved in a road accident.
The High Court judge was involved in a road crash that happened along the Eldama Ravine-Nakuru Highway on Monday, September 9.
Mogotio OCPD Felician Nafula while confirming the accident to the press said that the crash happened after the vehicle which the judge was travelling in rolled into a ditch.
The judge, alongside two other occupants, her driver and bodyguard, sustained injuries.
In photos seen by The Kenya Times, the Ford model vehicle which had a Government of Kenya (GK) registration plate overturned following the crash.
The front part of the vehicle including the windshield was heavily damaged indicating the impact of the crash.

Another photo showed first responders and a Traffic Police officer at the scene trying to rescue the Isiolo High Court judge and other occupants inside the vehicle.
By the time of publishing, it was not clear what caused the accident. The driver and bodyguard are currently recuperating at Valley Hospital in Nakuru.

The accident is among road crashes which have been reported within the last one month that have left behind casualties and fatalities.
It happened at a time the country has been witnessing a resurgence in fatal and serious injury accidents across different roads.
On Friday last week, three people were confirmed dead following a road accident involving a lorry and a GK pick-up truck at Fort Ternan along the Londiani – Muhoroni highway in Kericho county.
County Traffic Enforcement Officer (CTEO) Selina Chirchir said that the three were killed after the lorry carrying LPG collided head-on with a Nissan double cab.
The deceased, the driver of the pickup and two other occupants on the spot.
According to Chirchir, the driver of the trailer survived the accident and was rushed to Fort Ternan Sub- County Hospital for treatment.
The bodies of the victims were taken to St Vincent Hospital mortuary in Muhoroni for identification and post-mortem.
This incident came just days after 13 people died in another accident in the Kisumu Ndogo Area along the same Londiani-Muhoroni road.
Data from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) revealed that more than 3,000 people have died on Kenyan roads as of August 27, 2024, since the beginning of the year.

According to the latest data from NTSA, road accidents across the country have claimed at least 3,056 lives between January 1 and August 27, 2024, an increase of 146 deaths compared to the 2,910 recorded in the same period in 2023.
“Since the year started 7,114 Kenyans have been involved in road accidents, marking an increase of 703 compared to last year, 3674 were seriously injured and 585 suffered from minor injuries,” NTSA said.

Pedestrians have recorded the highest number of deaths in road accidents since the start of the year, according to the Authority.
The NTSA data showed that pedestrians continue to bear the brunt of road slaughter with a 15 percent increase to 1,177 compared to 1,044 who lost their lives by the same date last year.
Similarly, the number of passengers killed increased by 15 per cent, with at least 595 passengers losing their lives in road crashes, compared to 519 in 2023.
The data, however, showed a slight decrease in deaths involving motorcyclists which stood at 710 compared to 756 recorded same period in 2023.
262 drivers also lost their lives, a decrease of 260 compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, Pillion passengers recorded 259 deaths compared to 269 witnessed last year, while the number of pedal cyclists also decreased to 53 compared to 60 recorded last year.
