The Kenya National Examination (KNEC) has clarified reports about the release of Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) result assessment.
In a statement, the examination body has flagged a post doing rounds on social media stating that the KPSEA assessment results have been released online. The examination body has flagged the post as fake.
KPSEA examination, which is an assessment to grade 6 learners within the Competency Based Curriculum took place from Monday, October 28 to Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
Education CS Julius Ogamba stated in November 22 that 1,313,913 candidates sat for the KPSEA examination.
KNEC dismisses post announcing results of KPSEA
The pupils sat for the examination across 32,573 examination centers nationwide, supported by 617 distribution centers.
Ogamba acknowledged that most students maintained integrity during the examination period. “While the majority upheld integrity, there were isolated cases of malpractice reported.
Investigations are ongoing, and we remain committed to preserving the sanctity of our examinations,” the Education Cabinet Secretary clarified.

The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment is an essential part of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in Kenya, designed to evaluate Grade 6 students as they complete their primary education.
This assessment provides a thorough evaluation of students’ competencies, preparing them for their transition to junior secondary school.
Introduced as part of Kenya’s shift to the CBC, the KPSEA emphasizes skill acquisition and practical knowledge rather than traditional exam-based learning.
It offers valuable feedback on students’ performance across various subjects, which helps educators identify areas for improvement and supports the development of a well-rounded skill set.
Ministry of Education announces official academic school calendar
Elsewhere, The Ministry of Education released the official academic school calendar for 2025, which includes term dates, holidays, and national examinations for primary and secondary schools.
In a circular issued on Thursday, November 28, it was announced that all schools will reopen for the first term on January 6, 2025. The first term will last for 13 weeks, with schools closing on April 4.
National exams and assessments for the 2025 academic year will begin with the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), scheduled to run from October 21 to October 24.

This will be followed by the Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA), which is set for October 27 to October 31.
The Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and the Kenya Pre-Vocational Level Education Assessment (KPLEA) will take place from October 27 to November 6.
Finally, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will commence on November 3 and conclude on November 26.
