Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said that Trade CS Moses Kuria has nothing to do with the importation of maize into the country.
Instead, Musalia says the order to import maize should have originated from the Ministry of Agriculture and not the Trade docket.
Mudavadi says Kuria should let Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi deal with maize importation issue.
“It is the Agriculture docket that will issue an importation order looking at the food situation in the country.”

Agriculture CS Linturi has distanced himself from the sentiments of Kuria on maize importation.
Linturi says he is the custodian who takes stock of the grain harvest in the country to establish if there will be any deficit.
“So I will not answer to what is being reported in the social media,” Linturi said.
“I Will give a more comprehensive report on the national food status at a later date when I have all the data. Relax, you will have food.”
