Gladys Wanga, Homa Bay Governor, has issued a 15-day tax waiver as her administration tries to identify gaps that caused a reduction in revenue collection.
The tax exemption for Homa Bay business is to start on Wednesday 14 September.
The governor said Homa Bay was projecting to get three hundred thousand Ksh this year, but with the right ways of revenue collection, it could go as high as Ksh 1Billion in the same frame.
A 13-member multi-agency task force has been formed to research and provide alternative methods of revenue collection as the revenue collection officers report to the department of finance and economic planning for further direction.

“After my inauguration, I sought an update from relevant offices on the financial health of the county,”
“We have seen a fluctuation that points to a breach in the system of revenue collection. There is no point in people paying money that does not reach the county” Said Wanga.
