Popular actress Martin Githinji alias Daddie Marto is set to host a reality show “Nairobi Bachelor “on Showmax alongside his wife Koku Lwanga.
The show is a 13-part reality show that will premiere on December 6, 2024.
As the title goes, the show will bring together bachelor’s and single ladies from Nairobi who will embark on a quest to find the partners of their dreams by the end of the season.
Nairobi Bachelor will also entail a baggage segment. In this segment, potential couples will talk about the baggage they carry in their lives, and the potential partners will determine whether to pursue the relationship or not.
Nairobi Bachelor mirrors modern dating scene in Nairobi
According to the creator of Nairobi Bachelor, Clementia Kabutha, the idea behind Nairobi Bachelor is revolutionizing the traditional dating show format and at the same time mirroring the modern dating scene in Nairobi.

“Nairobi Bachelor was born from the desire to revolutionize the traditional dating show format. We wanted to create a platform that mirrors the complexities of modern love, where emotional connection, shared values, and the ability to handle life’s challenges are paramount,” said Kabutha.
Kabutha , who doubles up as the producer, went on to add that the show strikes a balance between reality and drama, in order to preserve its authenticity and at the same time make it entertaining.
The show will invoke a sense of relatability
“The show’s unique premise blends real-life stories, and engaging drama to strike the perfect balance between entertainment and authenticity,” added Kabutha.

Nairobi Bachelor is set up in Nairobi and brings together a diverse cast from the city. This setting is set to infuse cultural richness in the show and is meant to evoke a sense of relatability among the audiences.
The show has been produced by Real Strike Studios, that is also behind the production of the award -winning Kenyan short film Kanairo.
Dating in 2024 is not for the faint-hearted
The host Daddie Marto says Nairobi Bachelor will serve to bring to light the reality of the dating scene in Nairobi that is marred with deep cultural beliefs, social media, dating apps and other modern ideals.
“Dating in 2024 is certainly not for the faint-hearted! Nairobi Bachelor reveals that dating in Kenya is both challenging and deeply rooted in cultural nuances. People are navigating a blend of traditional expectations and modern ideals, not to mention the influence of social media and dating apps. While technology has changed how we meet, the core of love – trust, respect, and vulnerability – remains the same,” said Daddie Marto.
The co-host Koku also expressed her enthusiasm for Nairobi Bachelor, saying taking part in it is rewarding.
Daddie Marto has played significant roles in the acting scene including Sue na Jonnie in 2017, The boy who harnessed the wind in 2019 and Auntie Boss in 2014.
