Gatundu North Member of Parliament Wanjiku Kibe now claims that her life is in danger.
According to Kibe, her male opponents have been tracing her in all her political events in the constituency.
Kibe is trying to defend her seat against a competition of 16 male candidates.
She claims that two of her male opponents have been attending all her events to insult and incite people against.
She is accusing them of violating the code of conduct they signed with the IEBC after clearance.
The MP adds that the incitement from her opponents is a recipe for possible violence.
She wants her security enhanced ahead of the August polls.
“I will make a formal complaint over this matter by recording a statement so the matter can be addressed,” the MP said.
At the same time, Kibe wants all women aspirants in the country guarded against men who she says have been belittling and intimidating them.
“The government has been doing a lot in protecting women but this must be seen happening to those seeking elective positions who have been facing threats from men,” she added.
Kibe is fighting to recapture her position against former MP Kung’u Waibara, Francis Kigo Njenga, and Mathew Mwangi Mukuha.
Others are Paul Mugo, Professor Ndung’u Ikenye, Mumu Gatarwa, Elijah Njoroge among others.
Wanjiku Kibe is a former journalist.
In 2017 she floored six male contestants to win the parliamentary seat.
