Ndegwa was born on August 28, 1957, in Ndima village, Nyeri County, and is a reclusive billionaire who has spent over four decades building a diversified business empire across Africa.
He owns Janus Continental Group (JCG), a conglomerate spanning energy, real estate, hospitality, and manufacturing across East, Central, and Southern Africa, the UAE, and Europe, with over 3,000 employees.

- Great Lakes Africa Energy (GLAE): GLAE is a UK-based energy company specialising in power generation projects in Africa. Its portfolio includes the 105MW Ndola plant in Zambia, which contributes to the regional electricity supply and supports industrial and residential energy needs.

Education and Career Life Of Humphrey Ndegwa
Humphrey Ndegwa began his education at Gathaithi Primary School before progressing to Nairobi School (formerly Prince of Wales School), where he completed his O-Levels from 1972 to 1976.
He then pursued A-Levels at Kagumo High School in Central Province, finishing in 1978. At the age of 19, Ndegwa began his career at the Central Bank of Kenya as a clerical staff.
During an eight-month post-A-Level break, he gained experience in the Export, Foreign Exchange, and Import departments, providing early exposure to finance and trade.
In the early 1980s, he left banking to launch entrepreneurial ventures, starting with Green Corner and Twigs restaurants in Nairobi.
