Tribe Hotel was co-founded by Shamim Ehsani and his elder brother Hooman Ehsani, members of the Ehsani family, which is associated with the ownership and management of the property.
The Ehsani family, an Iran-born, Kenya-based real estate and hospitality network, is reported to have relocated from Iran to Kenya following the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Who is Shamim Ehsani?
Shamim Ehsani and Hooman Ehsani are brothers and key figures in the Ehsani family’s hospitality and real estate business operations in Kenya, known for developments associated with Tribe Hotel and other high-end projects.
Shamim Ehsani is the co-founder and marketing director of Tribe Hotel and Tribe Hotels Group, a Nairobi-based hospitality and lifestyle company.
He studied Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Babson College in Boston, United States, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.
Ehsani has been involved in building a hospitality and food-and-beverage portfolio that includes Tribe Hotel Nairobi, Hero Bar, and the Tribe Beach House project in Kilifi.

Hooman Ehsani
On the other hand, Hooman Ehsani is a Nairobi-based real-estate developer and the Chief Executive Officer of Century City Property Limited, a company linked to the Ehsani family’s property development business in Kenya.
He is part of the Ehsani family, which relocated to Kenya after leaving Iran during the 1979 revolution. His father, Hamed Ehsani, was among the early players in Nairobi’s construction and real-estate sector.
Hooman Ehsani grew up in Kenya and became involved in the family’s residential and commercial property developments across Nairobi.
He has been associated with projects such as the Palm Valley Estate, a luxury gated residential development in Nairobi valued at about KSh3 billion.
The Ehsani family is also linked to high-profile hospitality and retail investments, including Tribe Hotel, Hero Bar, and developments connected to Village Market.
Together with his brother Shamim Ehsani, Hooman is part of the family leadership overseeing hospitality, food and beverage, and real estate investments built over several decades in Kenya.

About the Tribe Hotel
The hotel is situated along Limuru Road within the Village Market complex and is approximately 25 kilometers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
The property has about 100 rooms and suites, including standard rooms, loft suites, ambassadorial suites, and presidential suites designed for high-end business and diplomatic guests.
Its rooms feature modern interiors with natural stone finishes, wooden accents, mood lighting, and extra-long beds, alongside spacious bathrooms fitted with rain showers and large bathtubs in selected suites.
Some executive and diplomatic suites also include enhanced space and security arrangements suitable for official delegations, staff, and visiting guests.
