Pastor Kanyari is once again on the spot for using deceptive miracles to dupe congregants at his church.
In a video doing rounds on social media, Bungoma Goliath revealed how Kenyan Pastor Kanyari allegedly paid him to fall. He stated that the pastor paid him Ksh8000 to fall during a church service.
“Msichana anaitwa Kawira ndiye aliniambia nakupeleka kwa Pastor Kanyari, akaniambia ukifika huko, ukianguka unalipwa. A girl called Kawira told me she would take me to Pastor Kanyari where you get paid when you fall,” said Goliath Wa Bungoma.
Pastor Kanyari’s deceptive tactics exposed
The pastor has not commented on the matter but only posted a photo of Goliath Wa Bungoma at his church.
Pastor Kanyari came to the limelight following an expose of his deceptive tactics in 2024. The pastor used to ask followers in his church – Salvation Healing Ministry- to send Ksh310 through mobile money for them to receive miracles.

He was also exposed for performing fake miracles by using potassium permanganate that turns purple once dissolved in water. This chemical reaction, Kanyari told his believers, was how their sins were being washed away hence the change of colour.
Kanyari rebrands to Bishop Mwangi

The pastor went under after the expose for a few years before rebranding to Bishop Mwangi He returned with a morning show on a local radio station. At the show, he resumed his old habit where he asked listeners to send money to receive miracles.

Kanyari was once again exposed by a local newspaper and went into hiding again. He then made a comeback in 2017 and launched several TV stations including SHIFU TV, Prophetic TV, Vicka TV, Dunny TV, and Rockwell FM.
The pastor is the ex-husband of gospel singer Betty Bayo with whom he has two children. He is also the brother to the late Starlet Wahu who was tragically murdered at the beginning of 2024.
