Citizen TV’s Munene Nyaga was involved in an accident after his car plunged into a ditch around the Kitengela area.
In a video seen by The Kenya Times, the media personality who features in Longa Longa- a Swahili commentary show that airs on Citizen TV, was seen standing by his car as onlookers urged him to step aside.
He is also heard making fun of the situation while addressing a crowd around him.
“Mnasema hizo nduru zote halafu? (What is with all the screaming?),” said Munene.
The car was sported in a ditch
His grey saloon car could be seen in the ditch while members of the crowd surrounded it and could also be heard making fun of him while recording videos.
Munene Nyaga is involved in the production and presentation of Swahili content on Citizen TV.
One of his notable roles is in the segment Nipe Nikupe na Munene Nyaga, which airs on Fridays after the 7 pm news.

This segment is an engaging language clinic where participants challenge each other to name as many Swahili words as possible in a quick-fire format.

Munene Nyaga’s media background
The show is hosted by Mashirima Kapombe and Munene Nyaga features alongside Nuhu Bakar. It promotes Swahili language enrichment and is both educational and entertaining.

Prior to joining Citizen TV, Munene worked as a presenter at Nation Media Group. While at Nation, he had two roles as a Swahili presenter on Q FM and a presenter on Easy FM. He also hosted a show known as ‘Kisumu Changamka’
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Maseno University. Before branching into the media industry, Munene worked as a teacher.
Munene owns a palatial eight-bedroom house at Sabaki Estate off Mombasa Road in Machakos County. The house has a huge living room with a semi-circular observatory glass house and an outdoor balcony.
