In a tragic incident at Sober’s Bar and Lodge in Kikubo village, Buwaya sub-county in Uganda, a violent altercation over a barmaid claimed the life of a man.
The deceased lost his life after being struck on the head during a dispute with a colleague at the establishment.
The suspect, now in police custody at Mayuge Central Police Station, allegedly delivered the fatal blow to during the confrontation.
The Busoga East Police Spokesperson Diana Nandaula confirmed the incident, noting that officers had arrested the suspect.
Furthermore, the suspect is accused of beating the deceased to death in a brawl that erupted over a waitress at Sober’s Bar and Lodge.
Nandaula further explained that the suspect allegedly struck the man on the head, leading to his tragic demise.

“We got information that the suspect, who is being held at Mayuge Central Police Station, boxed Wabwire on the head and fell on the floor, resulting in his death,” said Nandaula on Tuesday, March 19.
The deceased’s body was later retrieved from the bar and transferred to Mayuge Health Centre IV mortuary as investigations into the matter continue.
Father in Uganda pleads for help
The grieving father of the deceased expressed his profound sorrow over the loss of his son and appealed for justice and financial assistance from the authorities.
Struggling with the financial burden of arranging a dignified burial for his son, he called for fair judgment from the Courts and sought financial aid from the government to guarantee his kin a befitting send-off.
“I want to appeal to the judiciary for fair judgment and to the government for financial help to enable my son to have a decent burial,” said the deceased’s father.
Meanwhile, the bar owner attributed the tragic incident to drug abuse, suggesting that both parties involved may have been under the influence during the fatal altercation.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the substances sold at his bar were not potent enough to incite such violent behavior, indicating that this was an isolated incident in the bar’s operational history.
