The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has launched investigations into 47 public officials accused of corruption involving Ksh2.1 billion. Among those under scrutiny is National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei.
Additionally, former Wajir Governor Mohamed Mohamoud, former Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos and three senior accountants under the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) are on the list.Â

Accusations Against Gladys Shollei
Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss Shollei faces accusations stemming from her tenure as Judiciary Registrar.
She is accused of being involved in the irregular purchase of a Chief Justice’s residence valued at Ksh310 million. The EACC alleges abuse of office and a lack of proper planning during the procurement process.
Despite the hefty expenditure, the residence remains unoccupied to date.
The Commission has recommended that Shollei and her then-deputy be charged over the matter, raising questions about accountability within the Judiciary during her tenure.
At the same time, former Wajir Governor Mohamed Mohamoud is on the EACC’s radar over alleged tender irregularities amounting to Ksh1.2 billion.

The accusations implicate his wife, daughter, an aide, and directors of 12 companies linked to them.
According to the commission, payments to the companies were made without supporting documentation, raising red flags about financial impropriety during Mohamoud’s administration.

Former Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos is being investigated for his alleged role in irregular tenders worth Ksh1.8 million.
The case involves the procurement of petroleum products from Cobcom Petroleum Limited, a company reportedly associated with Tolgos and his close allies.
EACC claims that the tendering process was manipulated to favour the company, violating public procurement regulations.
On the other hand, three senior accountants under the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) and their spouses are being accused of the unlawful acquisition of property worth Ksh274 million in separate tenders.Â
