Soldiers from the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) have warmed the hearts of many after their act of kindness which saw them help a mother in labor pain to safely deliver her bundle of joy.
According to a statement on Saturday, KDF troops under close operations from Gherille in Wajir County were on a patrol in the area when they came across a pregnant woman who had been in labor pain for hours.
On realizing the precarious situation the woman and her child were facing, the patrol team stopped to help the woman deliver.
As per the statement, their efforts were successful as they managed to safely deliver a healthy baby boy to the mother, much to the relief of everybody.
In line with Kenya’s traditions, the soldiers gifted the family a basket of edibles they were carrying to celebrate the arrival of the baby.
The mother, Salma Osman, received her newborn son with joy, and later took him to the Gherille Health facility for checkups and vaccinations.

The act has since won the KDF praises from Kenyans who saw the statement, with some describing it as an embodiment of humanity.
This, however, is not the first time the KDF troops are helping a woman to deliver.
In August 2023, KDF soldiers serving within the East African Community Regional Force (EACRF) stationed in Congo helped a pregnant woman to give birth.
