East African Breweries Plc (EABL) has announced the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director, Risper Genga Ohaga, effective June 30, 2026.

In a public announcement on January 14, EABL’s Board of Directors confirmed that Ohaga will be leaving to pursue interests outside the EABL Group, aligning with her career aspirations.

The decision marks the end of a six-year tenure during which she played a pivotal role in steering the company’s financial strategy and governance.

Her successor will be named in a separate communication.

End of an Era at EABL

In its statement, the board praised Ohaga for her visionary leadership and commitment to advancing EABL’s financial resilience and stakeholder engagement.

During her tenure, she was instrumental in optimizing the company’s balance sheet and ensuring robust funding strategies, particularly during the challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic.

During her tenure, Risper has distinguished herself for her financial acuity and bold decision-making, optimizing the company’s balance sheet and funding during and after the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure that the strategy is fully funded while costs are well managed to deliver strong results.”

EABL highlighted her role in strengthening governance frameworks, deepening investor relations, and driving sustainability within the organization.

Her influence extended to sustainability initiatives, where she supported ICPAK’s National Sustainability Steerco and served as a resource person at various leadership forums.

The board expressed gratitude for her contributions, stating that the other employees have had a good role model to look up to.

“The Board takes this opportunity to thank Risper for her visionary leadership across the organization and her exemplary commitment to the business and its stakeholders. The Board wishes Risper the very best for the future.”
