‘Ruto Must Go’ Chants Force Murkomen to Cut Speech Short

Government officials have continued to bear the brunt of people’s displeasure with the Kenya Kwanza administration. While attending the Korom Festival in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen cut short his speech after a hostile crowd heckled him.

The CS went on stage and danced along to the music before addressing revelers. The music then faded down to give him a chance to make his speech. No sooner had he began his address than the crowd began to chant, ‘Ruto Must Go’.

Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Duncan Mathenge also faced the wrath of the people after he was heckled while trying to address his constituents, on November 11, 2024.

It is believed that the cold reception was because of him backing the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
