Mwanzo is replacing Beatrice Kiraguri
The announcement was made by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred CS Matiang’i after chairing a security meeting in Nakuru
On Wednesday, Matiang’i led a high-level security meeting in Nakuru county in the wake of rising insecurity cases in the city.
Matiang’i was accompanied by Inspector general of police Hillary Mutyambai.
They also held a public baraza in Mawanga estate.

At least five women have been murdered under unclear circumstances
On Tuesday police in Nakuru announced the arrest of 128 in a crackdown targeting members of the notorious confirm criminal gang.
This came as three members of parliament from Nakuru were interrogated by the DCI over their links to the criminal gangs
Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria, Samuel Arama(Nakuru Town West) and Kimani Ngunjiri of Bahati are being investigated after they were associated with the criminal gang
On Saturday, Matiang’i ordered a sting operation to flush out members of the gang that is terrorizing Nakuru residents.
The ragtag gang has been orchestrating a spate of armed robberies in the Rift Valley capital including wanton killings.
In the crackdown, police recovered 406 mobile phones, 40 laptops, 62 knives, six swords, 15 machetes, over 100 kilograms of bhang and 3,367 rolls of hard drugs including heroine
Police also impounded ten stolen motorcycles in the operation.
Authorities will be seeking a court order to destroy the recovered items
Over the weekend residents of Mawanga accused a section of politicians of funding the gang to advance their own political agenda.
They also accused police officers of complicity in cracking down the gang which has been blamed for the rise in insecurity in the town .
Enraged members of the public on Sunday killed two members of the gang who were caught robbing a woman at a busy matatu stage in Nakuru town.
The gang is mainly operating within Nakuru East, Nakuru West and Bahati sub counties of Nakuru county.
Those arrested are due in court today
