Deputy president William Ruto is today expected to tour Mathira constituency home to Rigathi Gachagua, his running mate for the August 9 polls
The visit comes barely two days after Gachagua accepted to take up the role of Ruto’s running mate.
The duo will be in Mathira to attend the burial of Gachagua’s elder brother.
The burial service is being held at Hiriga primary school grounds
It is expected that DP Ruto will use the visit to announce who his party UDA will be supporting as a parliamentary candidate in the August polls
UDA had initially nominated Gachagua to defend the Mathira seat but the law does not allow him to defend his seat while he is on the presidential ticket.
