Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna says he is still waiting on President Ruto’s confirmation on lifting his red alerts on exile ban.
Miguna through his social media pages announced of his return home as the new President would lift his red alerts banning him from the country on September 14, 2022.
“I’m happy to announce that President @WilliamsRuto has assured me that the RED ALERTS will be LIFTED on Wednesday, September 14, 2022,” the tweet read.
President Ruto had promised to let Miguna back in the country as soon as he became president.
“This is because he’s Kenyan and even if he has committed a crime, our country has laws in place. I don’t see any need for having refugees from other countries while our very own is a refugee in another country.” Ruto said to VOA.
After Ruto’s was declared the presidential election winner, the exiled lawyer went on to social media where he spoke of his readiness to return home.
“To all patriots: Relax. Thanks for the solidarity. Yes, I’ve packed my bags and I’m ready. But before I can take my flight back home, William Samoei Ruto must first be sworn in as President, the red alerts lifted, and my Kenyan passport renewed. See you soon. Cheers!” Miguna stated.

Miguna on Wednesday evening on twitter asked Kenyans to stop trolling him on the same matters, as he was still waiting for Ruto’s confirmation.
“Fellow Kenyans, please go easy on your trolling habits. To answer your incessant questions: NO. I have not received confirmation that President @WilliamsRuto has lifted the RED ALERTS despot Uhuru Kenyatta and conman @RailaOdinga imposed against me. I’ll update you if I do,” he tweeted on Wednesday evening.
