A survey conducted by Infotrak reveals that 62% of Kenyans believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction.
According to the report, which was released on Tuesday, February 28, several Kenyans credited their claims to key issues of concern currently facing the county including high costs of living, high taxes and high unemployment rates.
Other respondents mentioned poor governance, bad politics, drought and poverty, corruption, poor quality of education, poor infrastructure, and unequal distribution of jobs.
Moreover, the Infotrak survey was carried out in all the eight regions in the country.
63% in the Coastal region stated that the country is at a plunging state, 48% in Northeastern, 66% in Eastern, 52% in Central, 54% in Rift Valley, 66% in Western, 75% in Nyanza and 62% in Nairobi averaging to a collective 62%.
Likewise, 63% of respondents in the survey were male citizens while 61% were women. Out of these numbers, 56% were Kenyans aged 18-26, 27-35 (63%), 36-45 (63%), 46-55 (61%) and over 55 at 61%.

Nonetheless, the survey also revealed that 22% of Kenyans believe the country is headed towards the right direction. Some of them defended their claims saying there is peace and harmony, the executive is working, the economy is growing, and the cost of living is affordable.
In addition, out of the 22% some of the respondents said the country is heading in the right direction as the president is God fearing, education has been improved, healthcare is improving, and taxes are being paid as compared to the previous regime.
Furthermore, out of these numbers, 23% were male while 20% were female.
Nevertheless, the survey recorded 15% of Kenyans unsure while 2% did not know and 0.2% did not give a response.
Infotrak conducted the survey between February 21 to 24 covering all the 47 counties and 8 regions of Kenya.
