Roots Party Presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has threatened to skip the presidential debate if his conditions will not be met.
Wajackoyah is opposed to plans to split the top four contenders into two groups.
The candidate alleges plans to pair him with Agano party’s candidate Waihiga Mwaure while Deputy President William Ruto(UDA) is paired with ODM leader Raila Odinga(Azimio) on one side.
Wajackoyah now wants a single debate to bring together all the four candidates.
He says that separating candidates will be demeaning and degrading to him and Mwaure.
“Does it mean that we are the last remnants of society? I want us to have a head on . What is wrong with all of us having the same podium,” posed Wajackoyah.
Wjackoyah says he will not participate in the debate if his concerns are not addressed.
The 2022 Presidential debate is set to be held on Tuesday, July 26, at the Catholic University for Eastern Africa (CUEA) main campus situated in Karen, Nairobi.
Deputy President William Ruto had also threatened to boycott over what he termed as biased coverage from the media.
Ruto accused sections of media for favouring Raila over him.
