William Ruto in a condolence message hailed the fallen Queen, longest serving Monarch’s Common Wealth Leadership.
The longest serving Monarch Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The Queen had spent his last days at the castle.
Charles III, will take over from Elizabeth as the next King.
In the past, the queen expressed desire for Charles to take over the Commonwealth. “It is my sincere wish that the Commonwealth will continue to offer stability and continuity for future generations, and will decide that one day the Prince of Wales should carry on the important work started by my father in 1949,” said the Elizabeth in 2018.
In His statement, the President-elect wished his condolences to the people of the United Kingdom and praised the late Queen for her admirable leadership.
“I have received news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II and I send condolences to the people of the United Kingdom. The queen’s leadership of the Commonwealth for the past seven decades is admirable,” Ruto said.
Ruto went on to highlight The Queens’s contribution to the Common Wealth’s Socioeconomic.
“She steered the institution’s evolution into a forum for effective multilateral engagement whose potential to drive tremendous socioeconomic progress remain incontestable and redounds to the Queen’s historic legacy” the statement further said.
The Queen had visited Kenya, a British Colony in 1952 as part of her Commonwealth tour, when she received the news of her father’s passing. Elizabeth, who was a Princess at the time was in the company of her late husband.
