Azimio la Umoja One Kenya lawmakers have begun hitting the drums for 2027 presidential elections hinting at rallying support towards a Kalonzo presidency.
While speaking at the Umoja 2 SDA church on Saturday, November 4 during a fundraiser, the legislator led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna hinted at supporting Kalonzo Musyoka in the next general election.
Senator Sifuna explained his reason for rallying support for the Wiper boss as the next Azimio flag bearer stating that he is an honest man.
Similarly, he acknowledged Kalonzo’s trustworthiness, adding that he is a leader who is able to keep his promises to the people.
“Wewe ni mutu mungwana hautaahidi watu mambo huwezi kutimiza,” said Edwin Sifuna which loosely translates to You are a kind person and I know you will not promise people things you clearly know you cannot fulfil.

Azimio Leaders Endorse Kalonzo
In addition, the legislator stated that the team recognizes Kalonzo’s sacrifice during the 2022 elections and hence will crown him as the next flag bearer.
On his part, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua also endorsed the Wiper party leader promising his full support.
Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino while echoing Kalonzo’s endorsement pledged his financial and emotional support to Kalonzo Musyoka.
Bbau Owino noted that he believes all shall be well having him in power as the sixth president.
“We will save you from the shackles of oppression, we will save you from the bondage of poverty and with our sixth year we know all is good ahead,” stated Babu.
In response to the loud endorsement Kalonzo Musyoka urged the Azimio legislators to hit the ground and neutralize Kenya Kwanza’s campaign efforts.
“Tukiongea team yetu ya Azimio, muende Kazi sio kulala,” he stated. This can be loosely translated to we need to do less talking and more action
Raila Odinga Statement on Kalonzo Endorsement
Notably, this is not the first time Kalonzo’s endorsement has hit the airwaves.
Early October, Azimio Party leader Raila Odinga refuted allegations of endorsing Kalonzo as his successor after a statement he made in Siaya County during Oburu Odinga’s birthday where Kalonzo was the Chief guest.

At the October 15 event, Raila praised Kalonzo Musyoka, noting that he would always support him.
“We will stand firm with Kalonzo since he is faithful,” he said then.
Nonetheless, while disputing the allegations, Odinga clarified that Azimio is a coalition of equals, in which every leader stands a fair and equal chance to emerge as the presidential candidate in 2027.
According to Raila, the candidate will not be named until a year or just months before the 2027 election.
