Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a new political push to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, saying it marks an important moment for the country.
In a statement on June 6, Kalonzo said the initiative, known as KOMBOA, is not just a campaign tool but a call for Kenyans to come together, take responsibility, and demand better leadership.
“Tonight, we open a window into a lifetime of public service and, more importantly, into a vision for the Kenya we can build together. This is more than the launch of a platform website. it Is our KOMBOA moment,” wrote Kalonzo in a statement.
Kalonzo Frames KOMBOA as a National Call for Accountability and Change
According to the former Vice President, the movement represents a shift from rhetoric to results, urging Kenyans to embrace a shared responsibility in shaping the country’s future.

“KOMBOA is about rising together, moving from promise to delivery, from potential to progress, and from hope to action,” he said.
Kalonzo emphasized that the idea was not conceived spontaneously but has been in development since the Wiper Patriotic Front National Delegates Conference (NDC) held on October 10 last year. He noted that the movement reflects long-standing concerns about governance and the direction of the country.
“Those who have followed our journey since the NDC know that we did not choose that word lightly,” he added.
Framing the initiative in stronger political terms, Kalonzo described KOMBOA as a binding commitment between himself and Kenyans who feel disillusioned with the current administration.
“KOMBOA is not a slogan. It is a covenant between every Kenyan who believes that our country needs urgent liberation from the current state capture,” he said.

Speaking at the launch of the KOMBOA Movement, Kalonzo clarified that their absence should not be seen as a sign of rift within the coalition, maintaining that unity remains intact.
He expressed confidence that the opposition will stay together and mount a challenge to unseat President William Ruto in the next General Election.
The former Vice President also praised his fellow coalition leaders, saying they are a strong and committed team focused on serving Kenyans and working together ahead of the 2027 elections.
