Azimio la Umoja presidential running mate Martha Karua while addressing residents of Subukia in Nakuru County on Saturday, May 28, said she will spare no one in the fight against corruption.
The Narc Kenya boss also reiterated that the Odinga-led coalition is prepared to change the lives of poor Kenyans by ensuring the economy is revamped, if they win the August elections.
“We have poor Kenyans who are going to bed hungry, under the Azimio government, we have promised to give those families Sh6,000 every month,” she stated.
Likewise, Karua promised that if they clinch power, Azimio government will continue with programs such as free education among others that were initiated by the late Mwai kibaki and those started by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“We will also revamp the economy so that we can give young people hope of employment and a better future. However, we cannot improve the economy unless we fight corruption and we in Azimio have promised we will do that.” Karua noted.
According to Karua, Raila’s choice of her as running mate and Justice and Constitutional affairs CS is sign enough that Mr. Odinga is ready to fight corruption.
Moreover, she added that the laws against corruption will apply fairly and nobody will be targeted in the fight against corruption.
“It will not matter whether it is my brother or my friend, the law will be applied fairly to all. We are not people of vendetta, we don’t hate anyone but those who abuse the privileges given to them by the Kenyan people, your days are numbered,” she said.
Furthermore, the Narc Kenya leader urged Subukia residents to vote in Raila Odinga as the next president of Kenya as well as Azimio leaders come August 9 because they are the only ones with Kenyans interests at heart.
In their day two of campaigns in Nakuru County, the Azimio team traversed through Subukia, Kabazi, Maili Kumi, Milia Sita, Barnabas, Kokepey, Gilgil, Naivasha and Mai Mahiu.
