The ruling party United Democratic Alliance (UDA) led by President William Ruto, will receive Ksh. 576,872,461 from Political Parties Fund, according to a gazette notice dated Friday, September 29.
On the other hand, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party led by opposition leader Raila Odinga will receive Ksh. 308,150,345
This is a difference of over Ksh.268 between the two rival parties which have dominated the political for the last two years.
Registrar of Political Parties, Anne Nderitu, published the names of the forty-eight parties that will receive funds in the 2023-2024 financial year.
Further, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee came third with Ksh.135,159,014 followed by Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democratic Movement set to receive Ksh.72,186,938.
Small parties supporing Ruto not left out
Additionally, Mandera Senator Ali Roba’s United Democratic Movement (UDM)got Ksh.26,871,436.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) will get Ksh.26,606,510 while Ford-Kenya led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula will receive an allocation of Ksh.25,848,652.

Also in the list is KANU, led by former Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, which has been allocated Ksh.20,028,789.
Moreover, Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP) will reap Ksh.13,773,163 while Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCCP) led by Foreign Affairs CS Alfred Mutua will get Ksh.12,666,760.
Also, the Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) will receive Ksh.9,798,327 followed by United Party of Independent Alliance (UPIA) set to receive Ksh.9,113,171.
In addition, Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) and the National Rainbow Coalition Kenya (NARC-KENYA) will receive Ksh.8,111,555 and 7,555,419 respectively.
The Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) will get Ksh.5,482,970 while Ksh.5,150,706 has been given to the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC).
Fund Distribution Formula
The Political Parties Fund shall be distributed as follows–
1. Eighty per cent of the Fund proportionately depends on the total number of votes secured by each political party in the preceding general election.
2. Fifteen per cent of the Fund proportionately to political parties qualifying above based on the number of candidates of the party from special interest groups elected in the preceding general election; and
3. Five per cent for the administrative expenses of the Political Parties Fund.

Party Not Legible for Funding
A political party shall not be entitled to receive funding from the Political Parties Fund under the following circumstances.
1.If it does not secure at least three per cent of the total number of votes at the preceding general elections.
2.When more than two-thirds of its registered office bearers are of the same gender.
3.If it does not have, in its governing body, representation of special interest groups.
4.When the party does not have at least.

- Three elected members of the Senate.
- Three elected members who are Governors.
- Forty members of County Assemblies.
