UDA party leaders have pitched camp in Kandara, campaigning to have residents vote for the party candidate, Chege Njuguna ahead of the scheduled Thursday by-election.
The politicians led by Murang’a governor Irungu Kang’ata, Maragua member of parliament Mary Waithira and Betty Maina who is the county women representative rallied the residents to vote for Chege as their next member of parliament.
According to the leaders, voting for the UDA candidate will be returning the goodness extended to the locals by President William Ruto for appointing two cabinet secretaries from the area.
Moreover, governor Kang’ata noted that Chege Njuguna is a vibrant leader with huge potential, adding that he will be able to deliver to the people of Kandara.
Likewise, Waithira expressed confidence that UDA will carry the day on Thursday pointing out that they have done intense campaigns for him.
The Maragua MP further urged Kandara residents to turn out in large numbers to vote for the UDA candidate, adding that transport will be provided for the elderly and those physically challenged.

Similarly, Chege Njuguna, while asking for support to become the area member of parliament, promised to deliver quality leadership to Kandara area residents if elected.
Nonetheless, there are eight candidates looking to capture the Kandara parliamentary seat.
The seat became vacant after the immediate former legislator Alice Wahome got appointed to the cabinet.
