Missing Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) team KCB Football Club player Brian Opiyo Olang’o who was abducted by unknown people and later dumped in the Ngong Forest has been found.
In a dramatic turn of events, the goalkeeper was found alive after a harrowing ordeal that left the football community reeling in shock and disbelief.
KCB FC issued an update through a statement on March 12, 2024, noting that they had communicated with his family which confirmed the news.
“The family of our keeper Brian Olang’o has confirmed that the player was found safe. We thank everybody for their concern,” the statement read.
He was rescued and rushed at the Radiant Hospital in Umoja, Nairobi for treatment after suffering minor injuries during the ordeal.
Reports of his disappearance sent waves of concern rippling through the country, with the focusing now shifting to his survival.
Sources close to the player confirmed that Opiyo was discovered abandoned deep in Ngong forest after an abduction experience.
However, despite the traumatic experience, his abductors did not demand any ransom from his family, raising questions about their motive.
KCB Player goes missing
The football fraternity was gripped by the mysterious disappearance of Opiyo who was last seen on the evening of March 10, 2024, prompting frantic efforts to locate him.
His distressed wife, whose identity remained undisclosed, revealed that Opiyo had reached out to her in a desperate SOS message, indicating that he was in grave danger.
With Opiyo’s whereabouts shrouded in uncertainty, the KCB Football Club and his family mobilized search efforts, urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to his safe return.

“We have received reports from the family of our player Brian Opiyo Olang’o that the goalkeeper has been missing from 6pm March 10, 2024. We have been informed that he sent an SOS to his wife stating that he is not at a safe place,” the club said.
The distress call, coupled with the KCB player’s failure to attend training and meet with former teammates, sparked fears for his well-being and intensified the urgency of the search mission.
Fortunately, amidst the anguish and uncertainty, a glimmer of hope emerged as news broke that Opiyo had been found alive.
Opiyo dumped
According to Opiyo’s chilling account, he was abducted and forcibly taken to Ngong Forest, where he endured hours of uncertainty and fear.

The details of his abduction and subsequent ordeal remain scanty.
Upon his rescue, Opiyo was found to have sustained injuries to his right shoulder and head, as well as a deep cut on his left thigh, which indicates that he had been subjected to torture during his captivity.
