Fastest man in Africa Ferdinand Omanyala has urged fans to show up in numbers at the Moi International Sports Stadium Kasarani for the Kip Keino classic scheduled for May.
This year’s Kip Keino Classic, a Continental Tour Gold event will be held on May 13.
Omanyala confirmed that he will be away in South Africa for a six-week training camp before he competes at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix on April 29.

“I’m going to South Africa, and I’ll be there for a special training camp for six weeks and I’ll have a competition on the 12th, 19th and 29th.
“I will be at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix and then I’ll come to Kenya for the Kip Keino Classic on the 13th of May. By the way this time around we have to fill the stadium to full capacity,” Omanyala said.
The African champion beat American world champion Fred Kerley to win last year’s Kip Keino Classic and will be joined by women’s world 100m champion Shelly-Anne Fraser-Price of Jamaica in this year’s competition.
This year’s World Athletics Continental Tour includes 14 Gold level events spread across five of the six continental areas.
