The Kenya Meteorological (Kenya Met) Department has issued a five-day weather outlook for the period between August 24 to August 28, 2024.

According to the weatherman, select areas within the Highlands East & West of the Rift Valley, South-eastern lowlands, and Rift Valley are expected to experience intermittent Cold & Cloudy Conditions.

“Intermittent cool and cloudy conditions are expected over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Rift Valley,” Kenya Met said.

Throughout the week, morning rain is expected in a few locations accompanied by thunderstorms over several areas.

Additionally, Kenya Met predicted that some mornings would have sunny intervals, while afternoons may bring a chance of showers.

In addition, rainfall is expected to continue in certain areas including the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, North-western, & North-eastern Kenya. However, most other parts of the country will remain dry.

“Rainfall is expected to continue over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley and the Coast,” the statement read.

As per the forecast, Nairobi and other counties in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley are expected to experience cloudy mornings breaking into sunny intervals between Sunday and Tuesday.

Wednesday is, however, unique as the Weatherman predicts that Nairobi and other counties in the region are likely to have rains in the morning.

At the same time, the weather forecast shows that Nairobi is expected to experience showers in the afternoons and a chance of showers over some places in the nights throughout the five-day period.

Other counties in the highlands East of the Rift Valley region include Murang’a, Kiambu, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Meru, and Embu.
