The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has published a weather outlook for the period between November 8 and November 12, 2024. In its latest forecast, Kenya Met predicted that seven regions will receive rainfall and experience isolated storms during the week.
“Rainfall is expected in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast and North-eastern Kenya during the first half of the forecast period.
Isolated storms may occur over some parts of these regions. The second half of the forecast period is likely to be generally sunny and dry,” the Kenya Met reported.
Kenya Met predicts rainfall in 7 regions
According to the Met Department, counties in the Highlands East of the Rift Valey including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi Counties will experience cloudy mornings which will break into sunny intervals from Saturday to Sunday.
In the afternoon, the listed areas will experience showers over a few places except on Saturday when it is expected to be sunny.

Showers over a few places are expected to occur during the night from Saturday to Monday.
Counties in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley (Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, and Narok counties) will experience sunny intervals from Saturday to Tuesday.
In the afternoon, the above regions will experience showers and thunderstorms over a few places except on Saturday.

Average temperatures to exceed in regions of Northeastern and Sourheastern
Average daytime (maximum) temperatures will exceed 30°C in several areas, including northeastern and South eastern lowlands regions.
Counties in the Northeastern region include Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo while those in the South-eastern lowlands include Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties as well as inland parts of Tana River County.

According to the Meteorological Department, the Coast region which includes the areas of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties and coastal parts of Tana River County is also expected to receive temperatures beyond 30°C during the day.
Additionally, according to the weatherman, areas such as Laikipia, Meru, Embu, Kirinyaga, Nairobi and Tharaka Nithi Counties will experience minimum temperatures ranging from 6°C to 11°C from Saturday to Tuesday.
