Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has confirmed that Russia and Ukraine will resume diplomatic talks in Abu Dhabi from February 4 to 5.
The announcement follows a delayed postponement aimed at aligning the schedules of all parties, including Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S.
Ukrainian President Zelensky had earlier confirmed the date of the talks in Abu Dhabi.
“The dates for the next trilateral meetings have been set – February 4 and 5 in Abu Dhabi,” said Zelenskyy
Zelenskyy is also positive about the talks, hoping to secure a green light to end the war since 2022.
“Ukraine is ready for a substantive discussion, and we are interested in ensuring that the outcome brings us closer to a real and dignified end to the war, added Zelenskyy
UAE Becomes Venue for Renewed Negotiations
According to Peskov, the upcoming talks will take place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, which has emerged as a neutral venue for diplomatic discussions.

Peskov explained that the meetings were initially delayed in ensuring that the schedules of all three sides – Russia, Ukraine, and mediators were fully aligned.
They were indeed originally planned for this past Sunday. But additional coordination of the schedules of the three parties was needed. Now, on Wednesday and Thursday, the second round will take place. It will be held in Abu Dhabi. We can confirm that,” Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
Zelenskyy has also pointed out the UAE as the best ground for the three parties to hold the talks. He has also asked Washington to remain active in its efforts to end strikes on Ukraine.
“There is an arrangement to hold a trilateral meeting at an appropriate level in the Emirates next week. February will be a period of quite intense foreign policy activity. We expect the American side to be just as active, particularly when it comes to de-escalation measures – reducing strikes. Much depends on what the U.S. can achieve so that people trust both the process and the outcomes,” said Zelenskyy.

Russian Forces Attack Ukraine Amid Planned Talks in UAE
Russian forces intensified attacks on Ukraine’s logistics infrastructure over 24 hours, with railway facilities emerging as the primary target, according to a statement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The renewed assault came even as Ukrainian authorities confirmed the full restoration of the national energy system following a recent technical failure, highlighting a shift in Moscow’s focus toward disrupting transport and supply chains.
“I held a coordination call on the situation in Ukraine. As of today, Ukrainian energy workers and repair crews have fully restored the energy system to its pre-incident state before Saturday’s technical failure,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president said the update followed a high-level coordination call involving security, defence, and infrastructure officials.
He noted that while the power system is currently stable, the broader security and humanitarian situation remains severely strained due to ongoing Russian strikes and extreme winter conditions.
