Russia has launched a massive attack on Ukraine, firing dozens of missiles and destroying energy facilities in the country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has condemned the attack, blaming the aggressors for attacking shortly after they restored the facilities, leaving the country’s energy supply and generation in disarray.
“Wherever the security situation allows, rescue and repair operations continue at the sites of Russian strikes,” said Zelenskyy in a social media posts.
The overnight damage has been reported in Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Rivne regions.

Ukraine reported that Russian forces launched a large-scale air assault on Ukraine’s infrastructure, firing dozens of missiles and unleashing hundreds of attack drones in a coordinated overnight attack.
The attacks have caused disruption, leaving regions without power or heating.
Since December, Russia has attacked key energy facilities in Ukraine amid the winter season.
Ukrainians and other citizens have been left in harsh conditions, including low temperatures.
In his statement, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that more than 400 suicide drones and roughly 40 cruise missiles targeted critical energy facilities, including power generation, grids, and substations.
Last night’s attack involved more than 400 drones and around 40 missiles of various types. The main targets were the energy grid, generation facilities, and distribution substations.
According to Zelenskyy, Russia’s attack hit an apartment building in Rivne and Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region, and the suicide drones hit the administrative building of a regular agricultural college.
Strikes were also reported in Kyiv and the Kharkiv region, and air defense operations have already begun in some areas.
Zelenskyy has called for efforts to stop Moscow from attacking the country during the cold season, also thanking all partners for defending Ukraine.

“Every day, Russia could choose real diplomacy, but it chooses new strikes. It is crucial that everyone who supports the trilateral negotiations responds to this. Moscow must be deprived of the ability to use the cold as leverage against Ukraine. This requires missiles for Patriot, NASAMS, and other systems. Every shipment helps us get through this winter. I thank all our partners who understand this and are genuinely helping,” stated Zelenskyy.
Trilateral Talks Conclude Without Major Breakthrough
Trilateral peace negotiations involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States concluded in the United Arab Emirates after two days of discussions, but failed to achieve a ceasefire.
Delegates held what they described as “constructive” talks focused on mechanisms to monitor a halt in hostilities and potential frameworks for future negotiations.
A mutual prisoner exchange took place, with 157 Ukrainian and 157 Russian prisoners released as a tangible outcome, but the larger goal of securing a comprehensive ceasefire proved elusive.
Moscow continued to reject Ukraine’s demand for an unconditional end to fighting and maintained positions on territorial issues, leaving peace efforts stalled.
