Members of a Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Kisii are in disbelief after a gang raided the church at night and stole holy communion wine.
While speaking to the press on Thursday, April 11, Ben Mongeri an elder at the church said the suspected criminals also made away with items used to serve wine during holy communion service.
Likewise, other items including musical equipment, flasks, cups and basins were reported missing after the incident.
According to Mongeri, the thugs may have raided the church to look for money given for offertory, and failed as the church leaders did not keep cash in church.
“We suppose they were ransacking the coffers looking for offering and when they couldn’t get it, they opted for the items,” Mongeri stated.
