Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that Professor Kithure Kindiki drafted his impeachment motion.
While speaking in a media interview on Monday April 7, Gachagua said that the impeachment motion was drafted together with NIS.

“This impeachment motion was crafted by President Wiliam Ruto, drafted by National Intelligence Service and Professor Kithure Kindiki ,” Gachagua revealed.
At the same time Gachagua denied President William Ruto‘s claim where he accused him of demanding Ksh 10 billion to help him traverse Mount Kenya region.

“The President if I had blackmailed him , blackmail is a criminal offense. It should have been accusation number one during the impeachment,” Gachagua defended himself.
Gachagua Denies Demanding for Ksh 10 Billion
Further Gachagua argued that the 10 billion claim said by President William Ruto recently is a narrative that the Head of State wanted to use to tarnish his name.

“It was just a narrative that he wanted to bring to the mountain because he needed to explain to them because he committed to himself that he will never humiliate his deputy, he went beyond and got rid of me.
He needed something to tell the people of the mountain,” the former Deputy President stated.
In the interview, the former Deputy President also alleged that President Ruto’s Personal Assistant (PA), Farouk Kibet is interfering with the running of Ministries by ordering CSs around and also tried to interfere with running of his office while he was the Deputy President.

He also claimed that Kibet took money purportedly from those who wanted to see him (Gachagua).
Additionally, while responding to President Ruto’s claim that he was fighting with juniors, Gachagua clarified that he once told off Denis Itumbi , State House Blogger when he interrupted his meting with the President claiming that the President was late for the next meeting.
Gachagua’s response to President Ruto’s claims comes just days after the President outlined some of the reasons that led to the former Deputy President’s impeachment.
President Ruto Accuses Gachagua of Undermining Several Leaders While He Was DP
On Monday, March 29, during a roundtable interview with vernacular radio stations, the Head of State stated that one of the reasons MPs impeached him was because he was undermining several leaders like blogger Dennis Itumbi, as well as MPs Kimani Ichung’wah and Ndindi Nyoro.
“I asked him, ‘Why are you fighting with Itumbi, my PA Farouk, and these young leaders? What’s the need for such minor battles?” Ruto recounted.

Additionally, Ruto revealed that Gachagua had demanded Ksh. 10 billion to help him get support in the Mt. Kenya region.
“I was told, ‘I can make you a one-term president unless you give me Ksh. 10 billion to organize politics in the region.’ I refused. If my fate is to be a one-term president, so be it,” the Head of State alleged.
