Mt Kenya Politicians Denounce Gachagua, Issue Ultimatum

A section of Mt Kenya politicians allied to the Jubilee party have denounced Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as the region’s kingpin.

According to the seemingly angry politicians, the kingpin position is not an elective one Gachagua was yet to satisfy them that he deserved it.

“A kingpin is not an election position you earn it according to what you have done to the people. You earn if from the respect you will be given by the people, so we respect President Uhuru Kenyatta,” said former Kiambu Member of Parliament Jude Njomo.

Tense Mt Kenya

The leaders were among 270 politicians drawn from Kiambu’s 60 wards who spoke speaking on December 19 at the Kiambu High School.

At the same time, they pledged their support to the former head of state for what he did for the region.

Also, they accused Gachagua of letting down Central Kenya, yet he holds the second most powerful office in the land.

They argued that Gachagua had no intentions to complete projects commissioned by Uhuru for the benefit of the people.

Earlier, the DP stated that the government will give priority and reward loyalties as well as regions that voted in the current regime.

“This government is a company that has shares. Some owners have the majority of shares, those with just a few, while others do not have any.

You invested in this government. You tilled, sowed, put manure, now it is time to reap,” said Gachagua.

However, Jubilee National Deputy Organizing Secretary Pauline Njoroge put the government on notice.

According to Njoroge, the region was not part of the government.

“People of this region cannot be shareholders in this government the money that was allocated to their projects by the previous administration has been taken away and redirected to other projects elsewhere,” said Pauline Njoroge.

Further, “The Caucus issued an ultimatum to the government of the day that all monies meant for Mt. Kenya projects that have been reallocated to other regions MUST be returned at once!”

Ridiculous Ruto Laws

On the other hand, the leaders criticized the government over the house levy tax.

“That the Bill in Parliament proposing the inclusion of Hustlers, Mama Mboga and Bodaboda into the paying bracket of the infamous Housing Tax must be rejected in totality, and should it pass & assented to law, ignored,” stated the leaders.

Similarly in regards with the livestock license the leaders have threatened to lead a boycott, while terming the proposal as a death sentence to livestock farmers.

“The leaders agreed to lead a boycott against the proposed Annual Livestock License that seeks to tax farmers by the number of animals they have,” stated the Jubilee leaders.

In conclusion, “The leaders agreed to gather all and scatter none both within and outside Kiambu back into Jubilee, our home. East or West, Jubilee is the best!”
