Kakamega ODM Gubernatorial candidate Fernandes Barasa has dismissed his running mate Ayub Savula over demands for a 50 per cent sharing of government.
Lugari MP, Ayub Savula who is Barasa’s running mate wants equal sharing of all appointments in the Kakamega county government.
However, Barasa has dismissed the demands and said that Kakamega would be one government under his leadership.
Savula had demanded five cabinet slots and 50 per cent stake in other government appointments.
While dismissing Savula, Barasa termed those demanding half of the county government as day dreamers.
“We shall have one government. Nothing like nusu mkate,” said Barasa.
On his part Savula claims that an agreement he signed with Barasa guarantees him a half of government if they win the kakamega gubernatorial race.
Barasa is seeking to succeed outgoing ODM governor Wycliffe Oparanya who is completing his two terms.
Savula dropped out of the race and agreed to back Barasa to enhance his winning chances against ANC’s candidate Cleophas Malala.
The Lugari law maker had sought to vie for the Kakamega governorship on a DAP ticket .
Kakamega has a total of 849,000 votes up for grabs.
