Kenyan comedian Timothy Kimani, popularly known as Njugush, has was hard-pressed to address his troubled relationship with Celestine Ndida, also known as Wakavinye.
During an interview with KTN, the comedian careflly avoided directly confirming the effect the separation had on his public image and content.
The comedian did not confirm or deny what was happening, and the response of the creators to their breakup.
Instead, the comedian shifted the focus from the sensitive issue to how the creative economy should be developed to work for those in the creative industry.
“So let’s work and make creative economy work, and we need to make money, and we need money, and we know that’s why we are here,” Njugush commented.
According to the Kenyan comedian, the creative economy and digital space are offering a platform for creators to tell their stories.
In addition, he called for the empowerment of content quality over popularity and improvement in the creative economy’s contribution to the country’s GDP.
Members of the public have, however, reacted to the response on the breakup by the comedian, with some criticizing the interviewer for asking an insensitive question that was unrelated to the topic of discussion.
According to Marytne Lawrence, the response of the comedian to the personal question directed to him was the greatest response to the insensitive question.
Others, including Eunice Ngahu and Wanjiku Kabura, commended the comedian for his answer about the breakup, calling him a wise man.

Mixed public reaction arose following the confirmation of the separation between the comedian and his then-longtime partner Wakavinye by the comedian himself in a public post on his official account on April 21.
Njugush, however, explained that despite the separation, the two were co-parenting their two sons, Tugi and Toria.
Additionally, he argued that the separation came after careful consideration and mutual agreement between him and Wakavinye.
With the confirmation, fans of the couple’s content have been putting the spotlight on the alleged signs that the couple gave during their content creation journey.

Public Reactions
In some instances, a fan pointed out that during one of the shows, when Njugush asked what the first impression Wakavinye had of him, Wakavinye responded that she viewed him as a person with a lot of village mentality ‘mshamba’.
On a separate video, when Wakavinye and Njugush discussed how men change after marriage and not women, the comedian did not support her view, citing that it takes two to tangle and that the change in the behavior of a man depended on what happened between them.
Following the scrutiny of various posts by the creators, most of the public has indicated that the signs were there even before the storm.
However, as the public continues to question the connection between the two and what the separation means for the two content creators, some have pointed out that Njugush had seen it coming and healed at the scene.
The conclusion was driven by fans who cite the most recent video of the content creator, in which Njugush sang a famous Kikuyu song by Joseph Kamaru about how lies destroy relationships, before standing and leaving Wakavinye during the recording.
